Our Purpose
At the heart of Adelphos Resources is the desire to equip and encourage people like you to become more like Jesus Christ and to live all of life with God-honoring competence and joy.
To fulfill this desire, we develop and offer resources that are not just about information—they are about transformation. We are a community of seekers, learners, and followers eager to embody the teachings of Jesus Christ in every area of our lives. Our resources are not simply lessons; they are tools that empower individuals and groups to live their faith in Christ authentically, passionately, and intentionally.
Meet John B. MacDonald
Adelphos Resources was founded by Dr. John B. MacDonald, who, for over fifty years, has served and taught the Bible on various continents. John graduated from law school in 1976 (UBC) and practiced law for over 25 years. During that time and into the present, he has also taught the Bible in churches, retreats, universities, and colleges in several countries.
In 2002, John accepted an invitation to serve as a pastor-teacher in Metro Vancouver, Canada. He now serves with Outreach Canada Ministries. Over the years, he earned a master’s degree in biblical studies (Regent College) and a doctorate (Trinity Western University). His doctoral thesis combined his theological and legal backgrounds at the intersection of leadership, conflict, and spiritual formation.
In addition to his academic credentials, John brings a wealth of practical experience to Adelphos relevant to the real, everyday life in the marketplace, disciple-making, conflict resolution, community, and family life. He is a husband, father, and grandfather.
“Adelphos” means “brother” in Greek, reflecting the family bond shared among believers in Christ as they journey together.
Adelphos is open to working with individuals and organizations in ways consistent with our purpose. For instance, we make recommendations about resources developed and used by others.
